Terms of Service

Effective November 4, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Shoreward website, its free guides and tools, and any move plan you buy from us. By using the site or paying for a plan, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or buy a plan.

Who we are

"Shoreward," "we" and "us" mean the business behind this website. Shoreward is a small business based in Florida, United States. We are in the process of forming a company; when it is formed, its legal name will appear here.

You can reach us any time through our contact form.

What we offer

Free: visa guides, the income checker, rule-change alerts, the waitlist and the visa wait-time survey.

Paid: one-time move plans (Essential, Complete and Household) and optional add-ons, described with their prices on the move plans page. Each plan covers one destination and is researched and written by a person.

The free planner is a convenience: it doesn't replace checking official requirements, and dates it suggests are estimates.

We are not a law firm, and we are not lawyers, licensed immigration advisers or tax professionals. Our guides and plans are general information and organization help, based on the official and public sources we link to. Using Shoreward does not create an attorney-client or any other professional relationship.

We don't submit applications for you, represent you before any government or consulate, or give advice about your individual legal or tax position. For those, talk to a qualified immigration lawyer in your destination country and a US tax professional who works with Americans abroad. Our plans point out when that's worth doing.

No guarantee of a visa

Governments and consulates decide every application, and they can change rules, fees, processing times and document lists without notice. We date our research and link our sources, but we can't guarantee that information is complete or still current on the day you apply, or that any application will be approved. Always confirm requirements with the official source before you submit.

Who can buy a plan

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. You agree to give us accurate, complete information, because your plan is only as good as what you tell us. If you buy a Household plan, you confirm you have permission to share the information of the other adults included, and you are the parent or guardian of any children included.

Ordering and payment

Before you pay, we review your answers and confirm that a visa route fits you. If none does, we tell you and you aren't charged.

Prices are in US dollars, one time, with no subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. The founding price for Essential applies to the first 50 Essential plans sold and may end without notice.

Plan prices do not include government, consulate, visa center, translation, apostille, background check, courier, insurance or any other third-party fees. You pay those directly to the provider.

Delivery

We deliver plans by email within 5 to 7 business days after we receive both your payment and any information we asked you for. Rush delivery, if you add it, means within 48 hours of the same point. If we need more information from you, the clock pauses until we get it.

If we're ever late, we'll tell you. Our refund policy explains what happens then.

Refunds

Our refund policy is part of these terms. In short: if your plan doesn't make your move clearer, tell us within 7 days of delivery for a full refund.

Landing cohorts and meetups

Complete and Household plans include an optional invitation to a landing cohort (a group chat with other Shoreward customers moving to the same city the same month) and a first-week meetup. Joining is your choice. We only add you if you opt in, and you can leave any time.

The group chat runs on a third-party messaging app with its own terms. Meetups are held in public places such as cafés. We don't run background checks on members, so use the same judgment you would meeting anyone new, and you are responsible for your own safety and conduct.

Be kind and respectful. No harassment, discrimination, unwanted advances, spam or selling. We may remove anyone from a cohort or meetup who breaks these rules, without a refund of any part of their plan.

Your plan and our content

Your plan is for you and the people it covers. You're welcome to share it with your household and with your lawyer, accountant or other advisers. Please don't resell, republish or redistribute our plans, guides or tools. We keep all rights in our content, design and brand. Photos on the site belong to their photographers and are used under the Unsplash license.

We link to government sites, consulates and other services we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, availability or practices.

Some links, such as those to insurers, Wise and expat tax firms, are partner links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Partners don't pay to be recommended, and a commission never changes what our guides say. See our partners page.

Disclaimer

The site, guides, tools and plans are provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including visa refusals, travel costs, lost income or missed deadlines. Our total liability for any claim about the site or a plan is limited to the amount you paid us for that plan in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable US federal law. If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly. If we can't resolve it together, disputes will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and either of us may use small-claims court where it applies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Shoreward grows. We'll change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell customers by email. The terms in place when you bought a plan apply to that plan.
