Privacy Policy

Effective November 4, 2026

This policy explains what information Shoreward collects, how we use it and the choices you have. We don't sell your information. Analytics and advertising cookies run only as described under Cookies, and you can turn them off.

Who we are

Shoreward is a small business based in Florida, United States. We are in the process of forming a company; when it is formed, its legal name will appear here. For anything about your data, use our contact form.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Waitlist: your email, the city you're interested in, when you plan to move, how you work, and whether you're bringing others.
  • Rule-change alerts: your email, the country you want alerts for, and the page you signed up on.
  • Visa wait-time survey: the country and visa you applied for, where and when you applied, when you got a decision, the outcome and, if you choose to give it, your email.
  • Move plan intake: your name, email, US state, passports, household, how you work, income and savings ranges, the cities you're considering, your target move month, the plan you're interested in and any question you add.
  • Contact form: your name, email and message.
  • Planner: the cities you save, your quiz matches, your move date and your checklist. Without an account these stay in your browser; if you sign in, we also store them with your email address so they sync across your devices.
  • Partner applications: your name, email, business name, website, the countries you serve and your message.
  • Landing cohort: if you opt in, the name and phone number or username you use in the group chat.

Payment information

Stripe processes payments. Your card details go straight to Stripe and we never see or store your full card number. We receive your name, email, what you bought, the amount and limited card details such as the brand and last four digits.

Technical information

Our host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to run and secure the site. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and photos from Unsplash, so those services receive your IP address and browser details when you visit. Stripe's checkout pages, which are run by Stripe, use their own cookies for payments and fraud prevention. Analytics and advertising cookies are covered under Cookies.

Please don't send passport scans, Social Security numbers or other identity documents through our forms. We'll never ask for them that way.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage for three things:

  • Things you ask for: your cookie choice, your planner, the choices you make in the move budget calculator and, if you sign in, your sign-in session. These stay in your browser and are needed for the feature to work.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics): to count visits and see which pages help people. In the EU, UK and Switzerland it runs only if you click Accept. Elsewhere it runs unless you click Decline. Google receives your IP address and details about your visit.
  • Advertising (Meta Pixel): to measure and target our ads on Facebook and Instagram. It runs only if you click Accept, wherever you are.

You can change your choice any time: . You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How we use it

  • To confirm a visa route fits you, write and deliver your plan, and send the deadline reminders that come with it.
  • To send the waitlist updates and rule-change alerts you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To publish visa wait times as totals and averages only, never with names or emails.
  • To introduce you to your landing cohort, only if you opt in. Other members see the name and handle you use in the chat.
  • To save and sync your planner, if you use it.
  • To review partner applications and contact applicants.
  • To understand which pages help people and, if you accept advertising cookies, to measure our ads.
  • To answer your messages, handle refunds, prevent fraud, and keep the records that tax and accounting law require.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Shoreward, and only what each needs:

  • Netlify: website hosting and form submissions.
  • Stripe: payments, receipts and refunds.
  • Google: website fonts and, as described under Cookies, analytics.
  • Meta: advertising measurement, only if you accept advertising cookies.
  • Supabase: sign-in and storage for planner accounts.
  • Our email provider, to send your plan, reminders and the alerts you asked for.
  • Unsplash: website photos.
  • The messaging app used for your cohort chat, which we name when we invite you.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy would continue to protect it. We don't sell personal information. If you accept advertising cookies, the Meta Pixel shares details of your visit with Meta for advertising; decline, or change your choice in Cookie settings, to opt out.

Some links to services such as insurers, Wise and expat tax firms are partner links. When you click one, the partner can see you came from Shoreward, but we don't send them your personal information.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist and alert sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Wait-time survey: we keep the answers to calculate averages; we delete any email you gave once we no longer need to follow up.
  • Customers: your intake answers and plan for as long as we're helping with your move and up to 2 years after, so we can answer follow-up questions; payment records for as long as tax law requires (generally up to 7 years).
  • Contact messages and partner applications: up to 2 years.
  • Planner: until you delete it (there's a "Delete my planner" button on the planner page) or ask us to.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct, download or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop receiving emails, through our contact form. We'll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's you first, and we may keep records the law requires us to keep.

If you're in the EU, UK or another place with similar laws, you also have the right to object to or restrict our use of your information and to complain to your local data protection authority. We use your information to perform our contract with you, with your consent (for example, alerts and cohorts, which you can withdraw any time), and for our legitimate interest in running and securing the service.

If you're a California resident, you have the right to know, delete and correct your information, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We don't sell your information, and you can opt out of advertising cookies in Cookie settings.

Where your data is stored

Shoreward is based in the United States, and our providers store data in the US and other countries. If you contact us from abroad, your information will be transferred to the US.

Security

The site uses HTTPS, payments are handled by Stripe, and we limit access to your information to the people who need it to help you. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.

Children

Shoreward is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, except details about children that a parent or guardian gives us for a Household plan, which we use only to prepare that plan.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also email customers and subscribers.
